FabFilter Pro-L 2 리미터 플러그인

 

FabFilter 에서 FabFilter Pro-L 2 를 공식 발표하였습니다. 

이 제품에는 새롭게 개발된 4가지 limiting algorithm 들이 적용된다고 합니다.

새로운 true peak limiting mode 가 생겼고, 다양한 방식의 스탠다드 기준을 지원하는 loudness metering 탑재, 서라운드 프로세싱 지원, 그리고 그외에 수많은 신기능들과 버그 픽스들이 적용되었다고 합니다..기존 버젼보다 사용이 심플해졌고, 효과는 더욱 더 극대화 됩니다.

 

New limiting algorithms 

4가지 새로운 리미팅 알고리즘이 추가 적용됩니다.

-- Modern : new 'best for all' algorithm (기존 버젼에서 전반적으로 더 투명하고 좋은 결과를 가져오는 만능 알고리즘) 

-- Aggressive : great for maximum loudness 를 만드는 데 집중한 알고리즘--EDM or rock music 에 적합 

-- Bus : drums 과 개별트랙 limiting 을 위해 특별히 디자인한 알고리즘 

-- Safe : maximum loudness 을 만들어주지는 않지만 모든 디스토션이나 원하기 않는 Peak를 막는데는 최적인 알고리즘 

 

True peak limiting and loudness metering 

손쉽게 maximum true peak target 을 잡을 수 있도록 기능을 적용하였습니다.

사용자가 원하는 아웃풋 레벨만 설정하면 True Peak Limiting 이 적용됩니다.

true peak metering 과 extensive loudness metering 도 향상되어 EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-4, ATSC A/85 standards 를 다 지원합니다.

그래서 Pro-L 2 는 어떠한 loudness normalization job 에도  완벽(perfect fit)합니다.

 

Advanced processing 

이제 부터  surround audio 와 flexible channel linking  를 지원합니다.

즉, 멀티채널 작업을 자연스럽게 할 수 있고 32x linear- phase oversampling 까지 지원하여 사운드 퀄리티도 이전 버젼보다 높아졌다고 합니다. 신기능으로 DC offset filter, external side chain triggering 같은 기능들이 생겼으며 Unity Gain option 도 있어서 어떠한 마스터링 작업에도 완벽하게 대응한다고 합니다.

 

Interface enhancements 

real-time level display 가 탑재되어 있고,  새롭게  innovative display mode 와 Infinite mode 를 지원하여 효과적으로 전체 세션의 상황을 볼 수 있습니다. 그리고 작업 흐름에 최적화되어 workflow 가 전반적으로 개선되었습니다.
